A member asked:

Does excess progesterone convert to estrogen or cortisol?

Ovarian progesterone: Progesterone (ovarian) and dhea are the precursors for more specialized steroid hormones, including cortisol, aldosterone, estrogen and testosterone. Taking synthetic progesterone,  progestin, will not increase the level of these hormones. In fact, Progesterone opposes their toxic effects.

Not really: Cholesterol is the first in line which becomes pregnenolone. This molecule becomes progesterone which via enzymes becomes forms of testosterone and cortisol. This isn’t true with synthetic progesterone tho. Your body will make whatvit needs in each cell.
