A member asked:

Can you have pcos without being insulin resistant? have history of functional hypothalamic amenorrhea. now periods 6 weeks apart, low progesterone, low normal estrogen and cortisol. normal fsh and lh. doc thinks pcos but i'm slim and low testosterone?

PCOS has become a less useful diagnosis over the years and your description is not really consistent with it in any case. That you don't have insulin resistance is a further argument that you don't have PCOS. Many, but not all, women diagnosed with PCOS have insulin resistance.
