Sometimes: Yoga can be beneficial in helping one reduce stress and anxiety. However, it is only one of many things that are recommended to "heal mental health problems." it certainly is worth a try and has very low risk of harm. See your doctor for other recommendations as well.

Yoga: Yoga is a form of deep relaxation and spiritual development that has been used since ancient times to reduce stress and anxiety. As family physicians see many stress related illnesses, it is not uncommon to recommend this time tested form of stress reduction. Many mental health problems are also stress related and yoga can be quite helpful.
