Is it a myth that sunburn before age 18 is the most harmful? after 18 i began to be very careful with sun exposure before i had about 5 bad sunburns and one blistering one?

Don't think so: At least in med school we were taught that sunburns prior to age 21 were associated with a higher risk of skin cancer over one's lifetime. It has been a while since I reviewed the data but I don't have any reason to doubt it.
