Hmmm: Safety during pregnancy is a matter for discussion between patient, a high risk obstetrician & doctor who prescribes the meds. Risk to the mom of not treating must be weighed against the benefit of treating with risk to baby. Benzodiazepines are used to treat anxiety in bipolar, but can be dangerous in pregnancy. Neuroleptics are generally safer, and anticonvulsants can be quite dangerous.
