Weight Loss: Getting down to ideal body weight can decrease the pressure on weight bearing joints like hips and knees. Exercise to strengthen the surrounding muscles can also help. In addition glucosamine or topical capsaicin may provide some relief as well. Discuss with your doctor before starting any new supplement, or over the counter medication, to be sure it is right for you.

Ice, stretch, bike: Try some mild activity ( bike or walk) then stretch, especially the hamstrings. If no GI or stomach issues, try changing to Ibuprofen or Naproxen for a few days. Also ice after activity or at the end of the day.
