What are the benefits of water therapy for someone with a disability?

Many: Water therapy can be advantageous because it often reduces the stress placed on weight-bearing joints and helps improve muscle tone through the resistance encountered while moving through the water. This can be an excellent form of therapy when properly supervised by a knowledgable physical therapist.

Safe exercise: Water supports the body and reduces pain during exercise for many conditions. Often people off work with a disability find the water therapy classes to provide social interaction and a scheduled time to exercise as helpful. Daily exercise at a pool or gym is something good you can do for yourself. Often sleep and mood improves with the routine.
