Not sure: Numbness of the hand can be related to pressure on a nerve. It can be in the neck, the elbow, or the wrist. Also breathing rapidly can sometimes result in numbness of the arm or lips. I doubt if the problem is a serious one.

Another cause: Inadequate blood flow can also cause extremity symptoms, which can be exacerbated by physical activity.
