Spinach: Spinach is high in iron and low in calories. Clams and livers are proteins. Some cereals are fortified in iron. Vitamin c helps absorb iron.

See below: Agree with Dr. B. The only thing I would add would be a source of vitamin B12 which is present only in animal proteins. You could also get B12 by pills or better yet by injection.
