What kind of anemia?: There are certain types of nutritional deficiencies that can contribute to anemia. Different nutrient deficiencies cause different types of anemia. The major nutrients are iron, B12 and folate (folic acid). More detail about your anemia would be helpful.

Greens: Leafy green vegetables, including spinach, contain a lot of elemental iron, and are good for anemic patients to consume to make more red blood cells. As a side effect, popeye would always note that it makes him stronger.
