Sleep hygiene : Good sleep hygiene is critical to relieving insomnia. 1) go to bed each night at the same time and get up each morning at the same time, at least seven hours later. 2) avoid large meals before bedtime. 3) don't do anything in bed except sleep or sex. No gadgets. 4) if you awaken, leave bed for a comfortable chair and read in soft lighting until tired and return to bed. Get up at prescribed time.
