A member asked:

Idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura is dangerous? can you die from it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Rarely deadly: Idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (itp) can be dangerous due to a risk of bleeding. Itp causes the platelets in the blood to get very low and this raises the risk of life-threatening bleeding. However, the risk of dying from itp seems to be <1%.
