Not always: Ideally, they should not be able to. Well made dentures, esp the upper dentures look just like real teeth, and I have known several instances where people have dated other people for years without knowing that their partner had dentures.

Probably: Better to know -- ask him. If unhappy with the denture , see a Prosthodontist for your options which might include : new beautiful denture, implant retained attachment denture that snaps in without roof of mouth covered, teeth built on implants which are fixed in place and resemble and function like natural teeth. Unknown: I've had married patients and the husband did not know the wife had dentures.. she told me not to tell him! ( I wouldn't anyway due to privacy issues).
