Cervicitis: Inflammation, whether chronic, acute or mixed of the cervix uteri. These can be from non specific causes (as benign as recent inter course or bacterial vaginosis) as well as from more concerning mechanisms such as sexually transmitted infection (eg, chlamydia, etc).
