Exam/tests: Cervicitis is diagnosed by physical exam to see if the cervix appears inflamed and by obtaining cultures from the discharge present. Cervicitis can be caused by the STDs Chlamydia and Gonorrhea or can be "polymicrobial" meaning caused by several different bacteria. Please see your doctor for exam, diagnosis, and treatment.
