What is causing the continuous rash around my 9 year old's mouth and left cheek?

Lip licking derm: Most likely a lip licking dermatitis. Usually caused by continuous wetness, the skin becomes inflamed and scaly. Sometimes it gets infected with a yeast as well. Petroleum jelly applied liberally and often is the best thing. If that doesn't help, get it looked at.
