Yes: Almost any form of energy can be used to stimulate acupuncture points including electrical impulses, magnets, seeds, injections, essential oils, acupressure, lasers, heat, etc. Interestingly, patients differ in their response to one type of acupuncture point stimulation. Some do best with needles while others do best with laser, etc.

Yes, in a sense...: Technically acupuncture involves using needles but one may have similar benefits by applying pressure (acupressure), lasers, colored lights and or a mild electrical current to acupuncture points. While many people are concerned about the needles used in acupuncture, they are very thin and barely penetrate the skin so the discomfort is quite minimal. But these alternatives can be quite effective...
