A 23-year-old member asked:

are anti-aging clinics licensed and monitored in anyway?

Yes, partially: There is no single agency that licenses/monitors anti-aging clinics, but the professionals who work in those clinics are subject to licensing standards. Thus, md's at such clinics are licensed/monitored by their state medical boards. Non-md's would be supervised by the agencies appropriate to their profession. Many md's in this field are certified by the american academy of anti-aging medicine.

As a patient you need to know that any physician with MD may practice anti-aging medicine and some do more harm than helping patients. Of course All physicians are monitored by medical board but you don't want to be the one filing a complaint to recognize the malpractice. You need to find a physician who had the training and practice evidence based medicine.

I believe doctors who encourage parents not to vaccinate their kids and many other unethical messages to public, are not practicing evidence based medicine and you should not trust them. some doctors take advantage of frustration that parents of kids with untreatable diseases have and recommend expensive, not effective and sometimes harmful treatments for them, avoid those type of doctors...

Not really: There's very little supervision of this area.

Although a pathologist does not see patients, can a pathologist do "clinic physician work"?

Sometimes.: Pathologists are usually in the lab, but in some specialties, like transfusion medicine/blood banking, the pathologist sees and monitors patients who come in the lab for apheresis or plasma exchange. Sometimes they even monitor the transfusion itself, if it is done in the lab. The clinical pathologist also does such work by discussing lab values with the clinician, and checking records.

General answer : I believe you may be referring that doctors would be employed by a larger health system as opposed to being self employed owning their own individual practices.
