What will happen if my gallbladder ruptures?

Peritonitis: Like any abdominal organ that ruptures (appendix, intestine, stomach), the contents of that organ enters into the abdominal cavity and causes severe inflammation and pain, called peritonitis. Left untreated, it can lead to infection and even death. Thankfully, this is very rare.

Very sick: Leakage of bile into peritoneum is quite toxic, peritonitis, shock, sepsis , death. Even high risk with early operation.
