Unknown: Because the fda does not monitor herbal supplements it really is not a good idea to take these treatments. Better to get less rest and nap when the baby naps than take something that could harm you or the baby.

Herbs are drugs too: Most small molecule drugs are derived from herbs. So herbs are drugs & should be treated with the same degree or awareness & caution. Both melatonin & chamomile, common herbs used to promote sleep, should not be used in pregnancy. How about trying meditation or listening to a recording or ocean waves? If you must use something try benadryl (diphenhydramine). It makes most people sleepy & is rated pregnancy class b.
