Define palpitation?: The idea that a baby could sense a heart rhythm abnormality and react to it is an interesting ?.If the ? Is more: can we detect irregular beats? Yes. They are evident on listening to the heart, a heart monitor or extended EKG rhythm strip. Infants can vary a lot hour to hour in their rate, may have occasional ventricular beats or varied atrial beats & still be within normal limits.

No: "palpitation" is a symptom and infants can't complain of symptoms. However, you can detect an arrhythmia by palpating the pulse, listening to the heart, or placing the baby on a heart monitor or doing an ekg.
