Opposite: Hypertension is too high of a blood pressure and hypotension means the blood pressure is too low. So they are opposite. However, both can affect your health and result in complications and both should be evaluated by your doctor.

Not similar: Hypertension is high blood pressure (usually >135/85) hypotension is low blood pressure (usually <90 for the upper number = systolic).
