MDs, RNs, etc: Cardiac rehab, when done right, involves physicians to set goals and monitor vital signs during activity, physical therapists to oversee exercise, and various providers to counsel on diet, smoking cessation, etc. These latter can include social workers, nutritionists, psychologists/psychiatrists, etc.

Cardiac rehab: A program should have a physician director and nurses, exercise technicians, exercise physiologist, physical medicine folks. The person directly monitoring specific exercises needs special training and could be nurse, exercise physiologist, physical medicine technologist or even some other trained professional.
