Septoplasty : Septoplasty is performed inside the nose on the structure that divides the right and left airways. It is done to improve breathing. Septoplasty alone does not change the outer structure of the nose.

If : If it is done properly it shouldn't be noticed. If over-resection and/or weakening of the dorsal or caudal struts of the septum occurs (i.e., " l-frame" ) it is possible to create saddle deformity or columellar retrusion. Fortunately, this is a rare event.
