Hello, Part : Hello, part of the consultation and patient selection process before surgery is intended to confirm that : 1) the patient is healthy and suitable for a planned nonessential surgery (called elective), and 2) that they have the tissue quality which will respond to surgery and produce a satisfying result. Naturally we never perform cosmetic surgery when there is avoidable risk. Of course there are probably patient fatalities in the literature when they had body contouring, including brachioplasty. But it is a very unexpected outcome, compared to the risk of fatal outcome when treating someone with a ruptured aneurysm or gunshot wound for instance. Just do your homework, stay healthy, develop a warm relationship with a board certified plastic surgeon. The more the arm surgery is merely skin resection devoid of fat, the better. I : I don't have the statistics on mortality from brachioplasty, but people die all the time and not necessarily from surgery. Good luck from nyc. For more info visit www.Drgrossman.Com.
