You : You are obviously in a clinical setting such as a hospital. Each organization has guidelines on the management of patients, particularly ones with infections. I suggest you contact your supervisor, the patient's primary physician and the infectious disease department. This is not the forum for seeking specific treatment guidelines like you are asking.

PCN allergy: Guidelines exist. Appropriate course is generally a multidisciplinary decision involving ID and A/I, depending on the description/severity/mechanism of allergy. If concern for allergy persists after thorough history or if history is vague, PCN allergy skin testing has good predictive value to better define risk. If type I hypersensitivity is suspected, then desensitization could be an option
