A member asked:

Crooked teeth? i know braces work, but are there any other options to fix front teeth that are crooked and have a gap between them? i'd rather use another method, if possible.

Most : Most orthodontists prefer braces for lots of reasons, the main one for me is that it affords greater controll. However, many orthodontis problems can be very well treated without using braces. Tw0 of the most common braces alternatives are invisalign and the crozat appliance.

Depending : Depending on the degree of misalignment, tooth colored filling material, veneers, and crowns can be use to correct some misalignment and gaps. Ideally though, if your teeth are healthy, orthodontic alignment presents a more effective long term result with less manipulation of the natural tooth.

Consultation: Seek out a consultation to see what alternatives will suit your needs. Invisalign is a very popular alternative these days.

Veneers: Veneers or crowns could be a possible option for you. Veneers on the two front upper teeth would be cheaper and faster than braces. See a dentist for a consultation.

Yes, but...: There are other options, but non as good. Clear aligners or semi-removable appliances (crozat) are only about half as effective as braces. If you had a broken leg would wrapping your leg in Saran wrap work as well as a cast? Restorations (bonding, veneers) require preparation of the tooth (hard-tissue surgery), and require periodic replacements. Braces are the best dollar value.
