There : There is no perfect testing without blood work from a laboratory but you can test your sugar with a blood glucose meter using a new never used lancet and lancing device and new (not expired) test strip. You would test before eating any food or any drink in the morning. If your sugar is above 100 that is not normal. If you are above 120 diabetes is likely. Blood glucose meters are not as accurate as blood tested in the labdrawn from a vein in your arm . Some health fairs do testing of sugar at no charge. Take care.

I just done A CAE blood test by self order for general check I'm 71 and had none significant diabetes the lab result is 4.3 ng/ml and reference range in lab is less 5.2 so is this in your experience normal regarding cut off numbers im non smoker ?
