A member asked:

I have a lump on side of my throat and my tounge has a white spot? history of cancer in the family

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Impossible : Impossible to tell you what this is without seeing it. If this is new, different from the other side, associated with any symptoms, growing, or you have risk factors of tobacco or alcohol abuse, it should be checked out. Any growth in your throat would be considered pathologic, but it doesn't necessarily imply it's malignant. There are many benign growths that appear in the throat as well. Best to have it looked at.
