Part : Part of your surgery consultation will include the anesthesia that you want to use for your procedure. Most plastic surgeons can offer you multiple choices. Discuss your concerns with your surgeon so you can be comfortable with your procedure. Best wishes dr. Peterson.

Discuss with MD: This procedure can be done either under general anesthesia or under IV sedation with the use of local anesthesia. I would agree that the thought of someone cutting my neck while I am "awake" is somewhat off putting. I would ask the anesthesiologist and surgeon fro a general.

Yes for General: Necklifts can be performed either under local anesthesia, local anesthesia with sedation or general anesthesia. The most important consideration is that sedation/general anesthesia should only be performed by a anesthesiologist in an operating room.
