7yo still sick after 2 rounds of antibiotics - what can be going on? what can i do for her? 104' temp during night brought down to 102' & slight cough. took to md - rx'd amox x10 days for sinus inf. finished that round & symtoms returned 101' temp. & coug

There : There is no quick or sure answer to this, but clearly your child needs further evaluation at this point. A viral cough would not respond to antibiotics and can persist a month, but shouldn't cause fever for three weeks. Maybe two viruses back to back, but a repeat visit possibly including blood tests and chest xray is needed.

Evaluation : There are several possible causes, including pneumonia, secondary infection or a resistant infection. Please see your pediatrician for an evaluation.
