It : It really is impossible to quote you a fee. The cost will vary depending on the difficulty of the extraction, the location of the tooth, as well as your geographic location as fees vary across the country. It will also cost a bit more if you have an oral surgeon do the extraction with sedation or general anesthesia.

Costs : Costs are directly proportional to the position of the tooth (impacted or erupted), degree of difficulty (is the tooth difficult to access or is it close to the nerve or sinus), how much of the tooth is left (full tooth or just the root) and type of anesthesia (local or sedation). Regional differences also exist due to the different costs of doing business the dentist / oral surgeon must pay. For these reasons most dentists require an examination and do not quote prices over the phone. Most "advertized" prices are general quotes and may you may ultimately pay more for the service based on "complicating factors".

You : You do not have a lot of money and no dental insurance and desparately need one tooth extracted.....And your question was how much would you be expected to pay? I am going to answer the question. The numbers will vary from office to office and how complicated the extraction is....But here goes. In a general dentists office, if they have a discount plan in place for people with financial problems and no insurance, a simple extraction would run $90 and depending upon the condition of the tooth and location, can go up to $140. If the doctor feels it is too complicated for him to perform to get the entire tooth out, he should refer you to an oral surgeon and the price will definitely go up. If you are desperate and can not afford this, try to find a university with a dental school and you might have to pay less. I hope this helps and i hope you can get your tooth extracted as soon as possible so you are not in pain.
