Many : Many people need no change in dosage over time. The amount someone needs depends on many factors. Body weight is just one factor. The highest dosage in 1 pill is 300 mcg. The lowest dose pill is 12.5. 150 is a commonly prescribed dosage.

The : The short answer is neither. The lowest dose is 25mcg with highest being 300 mcg. Your dose will be considered appropriate based on your thyroid levels. Several factors will determine dose need, including type of hypothyroidism (post surgical thyroidectomy, post rai, hashimoto's, central, ectopic, ect), co-medications used, type of diet (soy rich diet can impair absorption) and body weight. All of these variables will contribute and often alter your dose requirement. Being on low or high dose simply does not imply good or bad thyroid state. Good luck. Cayce t.
