This : This is not likely dangerous. I do not have the advantage of a full history or exam, however, what you are most likely describing is yeast overgrowth on the tongue. White discoloration is most consistent with candida ( i.e., oral thrush). It often occurs in patients who have been on antibiotics where the normal bacterial balance of the mouth has been disrupted, in smokers, in patients with poor oral hygiene, following radiation therapy or other causes of dry mouth conditions, in immunocompromised patients, etc. Gentle mechanical brushing of the tongue often in combination with an oral rinse ( such as Nystatin suspension) is helpful. The pink colored "bumps" in your throat, if they are on the back wall (posterior pharynx) are probably lymphoid aggregates (part of waldeyer's ring) and are normal structures that can react to inflammatory insult. If the bumps are on the back of your tongue they are most likely part of your taste bud system ( circumvallate papillae) and normal structures. I would suggest you have a physician look at this for accurate diagnosis and treatment.

Wht.tongue= many pos: Go see a doctor: the white tongue could be yeast, excessively dry, lichen planus, geographic tongue, oral cancer, or just a benign mucous build-up.
