You : You likely suffered a viral pharyngitis from kissing. This is an infection of the throat caused by a virus and goes away within a week or so. The sore in your mouth is more worrisome. It may represent a cold sore, which is caused by a herpes virus. If the sore is gone, there is a chance you may get another one. If so you can see your doctor and he/she can prescribe a medication to lessen the duration and pain of the lesion. Unfortunatley it will likely recur. On the other hand it may have been an ulcer from a bite in the mouth, it's very hard to say. Time will tell. I wish you the best.

Sharing Germs: Intimate physical contact allows you to exchange body fluids and all that that implies, you will naturally contract any disease or commensal organism that resides in and on each others bodies. It is quite common as one adjusts to a new partner to have refractory period during which you adjust to the new organisms you are sharing. Please seek medical advice
