For : For the most part, dangers in abdominal liposuction are associated with the use of the local anesthetic. If your surgeon is experienced, she or he will know how much local anesthesia can be used safely. As for chin liposuction, the area of treatment is much smaller and the amount of local anesthesia needed is less. Therefore, the risks are reduced.

The : The amount of local anesthesia and fluids shifts that can occur during abdominal liposuction are much more than that occuring during neck liposuction. Much less fat is removed during neck liposuction and the amount of local anesthesia is also less.

Both are quite safe: Both areas are quite safely treated with an experienced doctor. Local anesthesia has made liposuction a much safer procedure in general. With the use of laser or vaser to first liquefy the fat, there is less damage to vessels and nerves and hence less risk and less recovery time also. Chin liposuction is a relatively low risk area of treatment when done with local anesthesia and experienced doc.

Safe in good hands: Liposuction in the hands of well trained , board certified plastic surgeon can be safe on any body area. Unfortunately other physicians may use liposuction devices without proper training and can be dangerous even lethal. Severe complications can happen from liposuction. Chose your surgeon well.
