Local : Local anesthesia with sedation can be used with liposuction. It works best when a single region is being treated and worst when multiple sites are treated. There is an upper limit to the amount of local anesthesia that can safely be given. Best to discuss this with your plastic surgeon.

I : I agree with you that general anesthesia should be avoided for most lipo procedures and for vaser. Iv sedation or local work the best. Good luck from nyc. For more info visit www.Drgrossman.Com.

Depending : Depending on the extent of the area to be treated and your pain tolerance, local anesthesia is an option to be discussed with your surgeon and anesthesiologist.

If small area: If you just have a small area to be treated, it could be an option but if it is a large area it is uncomfortable and possibly unsafe to just use local anesthesia.

Depends: This depends both on your plastic surgeon, as well as the amount and location of the procedure. Some areas will require general anesthesia, whereas other will just require sedation. Talk to your anesthesiologist about the best way to preemptively manage your nausea and vomiting. Good luck.
