Keep stomach empty: You can try fasting 8-10 hours before surgery...only take Fluids until 3 hours before surgery. This way your stomach will be emptied of all partially digested food and there will be NOTHING to vomit. Also speak with the Oral Surgeon and Anesthesiologist so he may consider alternatives in your case.

NPO and Zofran (ondansetron): Keep NPO, meaning to withhold oral food and fluids from a patient for various reasons for at least 6 hours. Juice and milk are foods. Request a zofran (ondansetron) shot IV or IM at the end of the surgery to control vomiting and nausea. Good luck.
