Does sound fungal...: Jock itch or tinea cruris is a fungal infection of the moist genital area. Exercising & sweating does seem to increase the risk--hence the name "jock" with this. Not all fungal infections respond to the same anti-fungal creams. Perhaps you were unlucky and chose the wrong one for your particular situation. It would be best if you obtained a more potent prescription medication for this. See your md.

Good morning. I have had a re-occurring jock itch for almost a year now. I have tried all kinds of over the counter cream but nothing will clear it up. It is only on my right side. It does not get raw or anything but it has become an issue. Is there anything I can be prescribed for this without having to go into a doctor's office? Itching for almost a year?
