What other medical risks increase after menopause? i know my risk of osteoporosis has increased now that i've gone through menopause. are there any other health problems i need to be concerned about as well?

That : That is an excellent question. Cardiovascular risks also increase, for stroke and myocardial infarction (heart attack). Of course eating well and keeping weight under control are helpful, but some physicians also advise that their patients take a baby Aspirin a day, which can help prevent stroke and heart problems. Patients with an Aspirin sensitivity, ulcers, or bleeding problems of course can't take aspirin, but most patients can take a baby Aspirin a day with no problem. Be sure your mammogram and colonoscopies are up to date as well.

Yes: risk factors for osteoporosis include 1.smoking. 2.Excessive alcohol intake. 3. Use of steroids.physical mobility. 4. Use of certain medications. 5.Genetic risk factors. 5. Insufficient calcium and vitamin D intake. 6. Malabsorption disorders.
