The : The nose will be a bit runny for up to a few weeks after surgery. The internal skin lining will be a bit inflammed after surgery which results in more nose drainage. It's not usually very severe, but this can vary from person to person. You can use a salt water rinse to help flush the nose which helps a lot with the healing process.

Significant : Significant nasal drainage after a septoplasty will last for about one week. After that some drainage is possible for another couple weeks but you can blow your nose after 10-14 days. This is better than the constant nasal congestion that has lead you to consider the operation.
