The : The best way to figure out your triggers is to keep a headache journal. One can be found at www.Headache.Org. (this is a really good website for information as well). Most common food triggers are msg, artificial sweeteners, alcohol. Some people find that a certain smell, cigarette smoking can trigger their headaches. Writing things down on the journal can help clarify it for you. Recently, studies have found that magnesium supplementation can help with headaches. Please talk to your doctor before starting it though. I applaud you for being proactive in your own health, in trying to figure this out yourself. Best wishes.

Elimination: Use the process of elimination. Avoid all the foods and environments you suspect as triggers for a time (longer than the typical time period between your migraines) and see if the migraines are eliminated. If so, one or more of those things is a trigger. Now, add one thing back to your life for a while. If the migraines return, bingo. Keep repeating until all have been tested.

OK, let's try it: First, google food lists, environmental risks, bodily triggers, geometric designs, bright sunshine, weather fronts and changes in atmospheric pressure, allergens, certain aromas and perfumes, and you have a lifetime of work ahead of you. Your choice, but far simpler to just take an otc remedy such as butterbur, feverfew, riboflavin, co-q10, or even magnesium. Then eliminate the obvious.

Keep a notebook: Get a small spiral pad and record all that you eat and where you go with time entries for a week or so. That should help. Good luck!

Triggers: Triggers for migraine headaches can include things like stress, odors/scents, neck tension, alcohol, hormonal changes(such as menses), lights, smoke or other fumes, ^'ed physical activity, particular foods, becoming overheated ; sleep patterns. Try keeping a headache journal to get a better handle on this. Take care.
