It can: Almost any unfamiliar situation can trigger a migraine. There's nothing unique about airline travel that triggers migraines in all migraneurs. The atmosphere in airliners is less humid so hydration is important. If bright lights or noise are triggers for you consider a sleep mask and earplugs. Eat regularly and sleep if you can. Consider taking melatonin to avoid jet lag. Thanks for trusting HealthTap!

Possible: Due to altitude, and pressurized cabin, with possible triggers on board, can see likely "high altitude headaches", and you may find benefit to taking preventative med prior to flight.

Possibly: It is not one of the common triggers of migraines however the stress, noise, cabin pressure changes and lack of good quality sleep on long haul flights can all act as triggers for a migraine.
