The : The postoperative restrictions after rhinoplasty vary among surgeons. I usually recommend avoiding strenuous activity for a few weeks (3-4). If the nasal bones were fractured during surgery you'll also want to avoid trauma to the nose or wearing glasses (unless you have your nasal cast on). The main thing is to follow the specific instructions of the surgeon doing your surgery as they know best what limits you should follow. To give you a better idea of things, i've attached a link to my postoperative rhinoplasty instructions below.

Ask your doctor but.: Each doctor will have their own routine and preferences so ask your own plastic surgeon but i usually tell my patients not to raise their heart rate or blood pressure during the first month nor wear glasses or bump their nose during the first 1-3 months. After that you can treat it like a regular nose with care.

6 weeks: 2 weeks of no strenuous activities and 6 weeks of no activities where you may be hit in the nose suffices in most cases.

splint: Your physician will typically have you wear a splint for the first week postop to protect the nose while it is healing. Afterwards you will need to refrain from any contact sports or strenuous physical activity for. Approximately 4 weeks.

Common Sense: No nose blowing, head-hanging or straining for the first 10 days, mostly to avoid post-operative bleeding.. Exercise extreme caution about bumping the nose over the first 2 weeks, followed by common sense (no forceful hitting of the nose) for the next 4 weeks to avoid moving the bones out of position. Sounds complicated, but most patients do fine.

Be safe: Typically rhinoplasty creates cuts in the nasal bones and initially weakens the nose. As the nose heals, everything stabilizes. The time to take it easy depends upon what was done. Typically, 2 weeks of no strenuous activity, followed by 4 more weeks of avoiding injury to the nose, is sufficient.

Several, yes, weeks: Following rhinoplasty you need to avoid strenuous activities, lifting, etc. Take precautions to avoid trauma to the nose, of even pressure (glasses, etc.) depending on how extensive the surgery is. Typically we tell patients to be careful for several weeks following surgery. These are perfect questions to ask you surgeon prior to the procedure. Good luck.
