That : That can be done quite easily. Your dentist will use a sandpaper disc to polish off a little at a time. Have a mirror in your hand, and guide him/her as to what you want. Let them take off a little at a time, and then reevaluate your smile. It is very easy to remove porcelain, impossible to add back what is removed unless the veneer is remade. Good luck to you.

Absolutely. : Absolutely. The only issue is that the glaze will be removed. The can repolished with ceraglaze polishing tips. This should not weaken the veneers as long as it is only a little recontouring.

As : As long as ther is sufficient porcelain they certianly can be recontoured. I often reshape veneers or adjust edges or lengths after insertion. I must say that this is not possible if there is stain or color applied to the surface of the veneer as this would strip off during recontouring. In general, resheping is possible.

Veneers : Veneers can absolutely be recontoured at any time. In fact, i recontour every single case that we do with porcelain veneers and even reshape the natural teeth for patients! truly amazing what can be achieved with an artistic knowledge of recontouring and esthetics. I have even had patients come in who have been unhappy with veneers from other dentists and instead of taking them off and redoing them, i recontoured them for the patients and they have been elated. It is a painless procedure that goes a long way in the hands of an artistic dentist. Go for it.

A : A careful practitioner will make temporary veneers and work out any shape issues in the temporaries. Patients can wear these temporaries for several weeks while all issues of shape are being refined. When the shape of the temps is approved, the dentist can take an impression of the approved temps and send these to the dental lab that will then fabricate the final veneers based on the shape of the temps. That being said, veneers can be reshaped once applied, but that should not really be necessary in a well planned out case.

Of course: After your custom veneers are created, they are firmly bonded to your teeth and can be adjusted and reshaped to your satisfaction.
