There : There absolutely can be pain associated with erupting 3rd molars (or wisdom teeth). However, there are other possibilities for the cause of pain with this pattern. You should see your dentist or an oral surgeon and have a panorex radiograph taken in conjunction with a comprehensive dental, oral and head and neck examination. It can then be determined whether the wisdom tooth or something else is causing your pain. Please don't ignore it and hope it goes away.

It : It might well be! if you are between the ages of 18 and 25 yrs and have not had your wisdom teeth erupt into your mouth to your knowledge, and have not had them taken out, then with a good x-ray and a quick examination you should be able to learn the answer for sure.
