No : No emergency room will turn you away for your inability to pay. It's the law, and it's how hospitals are able to receive government funding. But er care is problem-focused. What i mean is, they will treat you for the problem you come in with, but that's all. They will stabilize you, but will not investigate or treat an underlying cause. For instance, if you go in with a painful, swollen joint, they will give you medicine to get that joint better, but will not investigate why that happened, or look into seeing if there is any underlying condition that may have caused it. If you're sick and need help, and have no means by which to pay or have no insurance, yes, go to the er. They will not turn you away. Feel better, and i hope you get some health coverage asap.
