Do store-bought liners for dentures work well? they're a lot cheaper than heading back to the dentist, but do they work?

Dr : Dr mcleod has explained it quite well. You get what you pay for. A denture is a custom fit prosthesis made for you, and only you. It will not fit well in any other mouth. Over time, your mouth changes and it will need adjusting. That's part of the expense of taking good care of yourself. Do yourself a favor and do it right. Dentistry is not for the do it yourselfer.

Adhesives : Adhesives can work. I do worry about the long term affect of the adhesives sitting on the gum tissues all day long. Have you considered dental implants to anchor the dentures in place? Patients absolutely love having their dentures securely anchored in and they can eat, chew and talk without the dentures moving around. The implants may very well change the quality of your life. If this is not an option perhaps see about a reline from your dentist.

Sometimes: Denture liners are made to help increase the retention of the denture. If you require only a little bit of improvement, perhaps these will work great for you. If you have significant fit issues, i suggest seeing your dentist. Keep smiling !
