Bupropion : Bupropion (wellbutrin ) was developed and initially introduced in the United States as an antidepressant but was subsequently noted to reduce the desire to smoke cigarettes and shown in clinical trials to be effective in smoking cessation. It works best along with intensive behavioral support. Approximately 1 week of treatment is required to achieve steady-state blood levels of bupropion and treatment is typically continued for anywhere between 8 - 12 weeks. If you have not made significant progress towards abstinence by the seventh or eighth week of therapy , treatment should probably be discontinued.

Dr. : Dr. Waghray provided excellent information regarding medication for smoking cessation. Auricular (ear) medical acupuncture can also produce excellent results for smoking cessation. Safe, non-invasive and effective. Take care.
