See your PCP: Talk to your primary doctor and set up a regimen for pain medication prior to your wound care. Wound care can be painful. Wound care doctors often defer pain control to he primary doctor.

Primary care: Without knowing more about your wound, talk to primary care dr, if necessary they can discuss further with wound care and if necessary refer you to pain management. Prescription of pain medicines is a very tricky regulatory issue today because so much drug abuse is associated with prescription medications. Many doctors are reluctant to take the risk.
